Google Lively is Google’s move into the 3D world. One thing that is neat about google lively is that after you download the installer, it runs in the browser and allows people to place their virtual rooms on their blog or websites. Google Lively is a a huge step in the direction of mass market for this, making it integral to your web experience. Google Lively is seen as a combination between animation and a Disney movie, with wide-eyed avatars and colorful, angular scenery. Chat bubbles are brightly colored and attached to avatars with long stems. Google Lively is the new virtual world created by the world’s largest search engine. Google Lively is billed as a “chat experience” using avatars.
Google Lively is a great whack at a first generation 3D chat room. Clever since it minimizes the burden of user entry as it is browser-based. Google lively is a mini secondlife clone. Lively allows you to download its client software which allows you to login to lively (for which you use your google id.) But all the action happens inside your browser window (currently it supports IE and firefox). Google Lively is a 3D-chat world used to meet with friends and to make new ones. Lively pages can be embedded in other webpages, allowing you can hang out with your friends in a variety of venues.
Virtual World is the recent idea in this array. The virtual life stir was accelerated.Virtual worlds haven’t yet taken off for the simple reason that talking to strangers in a 3-D space is not for everyone. Multiplayer games like World of Warcraft have a built-in advantage here; if people get sick of each other, they can always just play the game.
Users can create and share their own places: Anybody can create and publish their own room. Pick a room shell that provides a good foundation and decorate it any way that you can imagine. Users can also upload their own music files to add a personalized soundtrack to their rooms. Users are able to customize their appearance by building a character using premade components, and web site owners can create their own room, embed it in their site, and, ideally, use it as a sort of virtual community. Simple blog comments and smiley faces may have seemed limiting to someone at Google, and apparently a full 3D worlds with avatars, text bubbles, and interactive environments seemed like the next logical step.
Basically the concept of Google Lively is that everyone can easily create his own little virtual world, which they call rooms . The idea is that you can easily integrate a room to existing websites so you can add your Lively Room to your weblog for example. Google Lively is billed as a “chat experience” using avatars. Google says, “You’re about to embark on a chat experience in which you can communicate and express yourself using avatars in your very own space.
