  The BlackBerry Pearl 8120

The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is a quad-band world phone and offers a speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, smart dialing, conference calling, speed dial, and text and multimedia messaging. The address book is limited only by the available memory (the SIM card holds an additional 250 contacts) with room in each entry for eight phone numbers, e-mail addresses, work and home addresses, job title, and more. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone is designed to help you do everything you want with your life. The BB Pearl 8120 comes with advanced phone features like multimedia, digital camera, video recording, Wi-Fi capabilities and expandable memory. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 can keep users who are abroad connected with wireless e-mail, Internet access and other mobile applications through data services in more countries than any other U.S. Customers can also use the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 to make or receive voice calls in more than 200 countries.

RIM will be introducing three new color options for its Blackberry Pearl 8120 device. With the bridging capabilities of the 8120 , T-Mobile users can drift between cell networks and Wi-Fi connections (T-Mobile HotSpots or HotSpot@Home) without dropping the call. RIM’s website advertisement for the new Pearl talks about how it’s designed to be carried in your pocket. And, I’m certain this new clamshell design will appeal to the HUGE, growing market of teens who wouldn’t be caught dead wearing their Pearl in a holster. RIM technology also enables a broad array of third party developers and manufacturers to enhance their products and services with wireless connectivity to data. RIM’s portfolio of award-winning products, services and embedded technologies are used by thousands of organizations around the world and include the BlackBerry wireless platform, the RIM Wireless Handheld™ product line, software development tools, radio-modems and software/hardware licensing agreements.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 also provides support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g networks, giving customers access to public hot spots, corporate wireless local area networks and home Wi-Fi networks. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 can keep users who are abroad connected with wireless email, Internet access and other mobile applications through data services with data-roaming in more than 145 countries. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 offers the legendary BlackBerry solution for corporate and personal push email. It also features improved web browsing, a video recorder, a 2 megapixel camera, Push to Talk, enhanced SureType™ predictive text input, Bluetooth™ 2.0, and Media Player. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is a member of the popular Pearl Series which provides the user with a business, mobile communicated devise complete with Smartphone features. The handset with a large 65k colour screen which has a high screen resolution of 240 pixels by 260 pixels, situated below the screen is a QWERTY keyboard.

The Blackberry Pearl 8120 is a result of endeavors in this direction. The handset is targeted at a wider base of customers from diverse backgrounds. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is not just compatible with T-Mobile routers, but also with routers made by Apple and Zyxel. This is a major advantage, as the previous models could only work with T-Mobile routers, making it impossible to make Wi-Fi calls away from home. The Blackberry Pearl 8120 has a dedicated media player that plays almost all popular audio as well as video formats. The video playback is exceptionally good and the images are pretty sharp. WiFi is a added bonus when available and blows away any 3G technolgies in both speed and cost of use. It’s interesting thought to think of all those imaginary vealots which require highspeed data in moving vehicles though, even though the Blackberry network is designed to work just as good on 2G as it does on 3G.
