The Palm Treo Pro is an advanced Windows smartphone from one of the most established names in the business. The Treo Pro smartphone, based on the popular Windows Mobile platform, helps optimize business processes by effortlessly mobilizing users with enhancements to the Windows Mobile 6. “We’ve chosen to partner with Microsoft to compete effectively with RIM,” said Brodie Keast, Palm senior vice president for marketing, but he added that there was plenty of room for both companies to grow in the smartphone market.
With the deployment of Mobile Device Manager, the Treo Pro can deliver increased security, easier smartphone management, and access to information on the corporate network.
The Treo Pro smartphone comes with an international power charger, microUSB cable and a stereo headset. Other accessories designed exclusively for Treo Pro (sold separately) include a vehicle power charger, leather side case, travel microUSB cable, cradle, extra battery, and TTY audio adapter. The Treo Pro is Palm’s second phone with Wi-Fi, a short range wireless technology that could boost Web speeds in weak cell phone reception areas, and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology that supports features such as directions. While the Palm Treo Pro looks like a great device it will be let down by the front end interface of Windows Mobile (something HTC have been able to combat by writing their own front end for Windows Mobile).
