Dell Latitude E6400

Dell has introduced a new business laptop called Latitude E6400. The special feature of the product is that it can run for as long as 19 hours on a single charge. Dell’s custom ControlPoint software widget offers a clean, simple one-stop interface for accessing security, power, and networking settings. Other business laptop makers such as Lenovo offer their own similar versions of catch-all administrative applications, and both the Dell and Lenovo versions are reasonable useful and easy to use. Dell focused more on the style of the new models and the E6400 has more charisma than its predecessor.

Dell plans a semi-rugged E6400 ATG version to be a dust-proof, shock-proof, and spill-proof, humidity and altitude resistant Centrino 2 laptop with super bright 750cd/m2 (or 650cd/m2 touchscreen) display, GPS, UWB, DisplayPort and more. Dell Latitude ON uses a dedicated low-voltage sub-processor and OS that can enable multi-day battery life to enable near-instant access to e-mail, calendar, attachments, contacts and the Web without booting into the system’s main operating system.

Dell’s Desktop Manager service allows IT to track dispersed systems, distribute software, manage patches and enforce IT policies. Dell’s new Latitude E series lineup of notebooks are all powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 processors. The seven new models offer optional backlit keyboards, SSD hard drives up to 64GB, personalized color options, fingerprint readers, and a plethora of connectivity options including 802.11n WiFi, WiMAX, and wireless broadband.
